Stanford ready to attack bye week to fix issues that cropped up in 45-6 loss to No. 7 Miami

Stanford is headed into its bye week after a 45-6 loss to No. 7 Miami on Friday, with quarterback Davis Warren calling it a “get better week.” The Cardinal struggled offensively, scoring no touchdowns, while the defense allowed touchdowns on six of Miami’s seven possessions. Miami also pulled its starters early in the first-ever game at Stanford Stadium for the Hurricanes. Stanford now sits at 1-1 overall and 0-1 in ACC play, and has until Sept. 19 when it visits Duke. The next stretch includes Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and teams viewed as less formidable than Miami, where Darian Mensah had a big debut (27 of 30, 401 yards, five TDs) and Malachi Toney set a Miami record with 234 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
