Subaru’s best-selling SUV, the Forester, remains naturally aspirated despite the brand’s long history of turbocharged performance. Introduced in the U.S. for the 1998 model year, the Forester helped define the modern crossover segment, combining credible off-road ability with road-friendly driving and seating for five. Powered by a 2.5-liter flat-four producing 165 horsepower, it posted a 9.1-second 0-60 mph time and a 17.0-second quarter-mile. Its ground clearance and approach/departure angles support real trail use. Subaru built it on the same platform as the Impreza, sharing a 99.4-inch wheelbase and Boxer layout, but tuned for utility rather than high-output power. Sales volume remains strong.
