Tesla recall in Europe at present, Dutch regulator says
xCruzo Brief
Dutch vehicle regulator RDW said on Wednesday it is not currently aware of any Tesla recall in Europe, despite concerns that some doors may be difficult to open in emergencies. RDW, the key authority overseeing Tesla safety in the region, told Reuters it is monitoring the issue but has found no recall at present. The statement comes after China last week carried out its largest-ever car recall, covering 4.3 million vehicles including 2.98 million Teslas, over emergency door-release mechanisms potentially being hard to locate or operate after a crash. RDW said recessed or flush door handles aren’t the problem itself. Improving emergency access is under discussion at UN talks and Euro NCAP.
