The Hongqi Guoya Is Now Officially the Most Expensive Car in Russia Built in China
The Hongqi Guoya is now officially the most expensive Chinese-made car available in Russia. The model, designed by former Rolls-Royce designer Giles Taylor, bears Rolls-Royce-like presence but carries a Chinese price tag. In Russia, the base Elegance V6 is priced at 27.7 million rubles (about $389,000), while the Imperial V8 tops at 31.7 million rubles (roughly $445,000). In China, the base runs 1.4 million yuan (around $207,000). The Guoya targets luxury rivals such as Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8, and BMW 7 Series, with the Imperial V8 offering a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 producing 476 hp and 501 lb-ft of torque, and the V6 delivering 380 hp and 420 lb-ft. The cabin features two captain’s chairs in the second row, a 32‑speaker system, sunroof, and extensive leather/Alcantara trim, with 4D vibration feedback. Russia’s high price suggests buyers will be primarily millionaires and oligarchs.
