The Range Rover GT Is The Most Car-Like Range Rover Ever
The Range Rover GT aims to feel more car-like than traditional Range Rovers, with a lower stance and a 2+2 cabin layout that Land Rover says will create a “sanctuary of calm.” The newcomer is not positioned as a replacement for the Range Rover Velar; instead, Land Rover is adding a fifth model to the Range Rover lineup. Bigger than the Velar and sized closer to the Range Rover Sport, the GT uses Land Rover’s new EMA platform and will launch as a fully electric vehicle, with plans for a full hybrid later. Early press images show frameless doors, a minimalist button approach, and a dashboard that avoids a screen-dominant layout. A 3-seat rear bench will also be offered. Land Rover reports a range of 288 miles and shows 80% battery remaining, though official efficiency figures are pending. Production is set for the UK.
