This is the SUV £20k buys you now, and it is raising concern among China’s car rivals by packing high-end equipment into a low-cost package. The Chery Tiggo 4 is priced at £19,995 for the entry-level Aspire and £21,995 for the range-topping Summit. The Aspire includes twin 12.3-inch digital screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear-view camera, keyless entry with remote start, heated mirrors, and voice control (“Hello Chery”). It also brings a seven-airbag safety set and driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning and rear collision warning. Moving to the Summit adds eco-leather upholstery, a 360-degree camera system, privacy glass, an electric driver’s seat and cooled wireless phone charging. Against the Ford Puma (£27,145), Volkswagen Taigo (£24,985) and Renault Captur (£22,495), the price gap widens once standard kit is compared, intensifying pressure on established brands.
