Toyota, Lexus, Subaru vehicles recalled. See affected vehicles
xCruzo Brief
Toyota and Lexus, along with Subaru, are issuing recalls affecting 2026 electric vehicles due to a fault that could increase crash risk. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the issue involves the electronic control unit (ECU) that controls the battery, which may develop a fault causing loss of drive power at higher speeds. The recall was issued June 18 under recall number 26V393000. By June 25, Toyota also reported voluntary action covering more than 16,000 2026 Toyota BZ and Lexus RZ vehicles, plus over 4,000 Subaru Solterra units. Toyota dealers will update the battery ECU software at no cost, and notification letters are expected by Aug. 3.
