Toyota's new GR GT3 to make early debut in Japan next month

Toyota’s new GR GT3 will make its competition debut in Japan next month before a broader rollout in 2027. Rookie Racing, a team owned by Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda, will enter the next-generation GT3 at the SUPER GT finale at Motegi on 7-8 November. The GR GT3 replaces the squad’s regular #32 Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the GT3 division and will run as an “open” entry, meaning it is ineligible for points. Drivers named are two-time Super Formula champion Hiroaki Ishiura and 19-year-old Tokiya Suzuki. The car will use Bridgestone tyres. Toyota previewed the model earlier at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon and brought it back to Goodwood in 2025, with Elfyn Evans driving.
