Trade Centre UK: Newlyweds among dozens in dispute with dealer

Newlyweds Amber and Nathan Cooper say they’re still fighting for a refund after their 7,000-pound Citroen C4 purchased from Trade Centre UK turned out to be defective. They spent their wedding money on the car for a honeymoon trip to Cornwall in August 2025, but it lost power and began rolling backward on the A30 near Jamaica Inn in Bodmin Moor. Two weeks later, after returning it to Trade Centre UK, they were told it needed a new engine, clutch and gearbox. A year on, they remain locked in a dispute over an apology and their money back, along with 34 other customers interviewed by the BBC across branches in Coventry, Rochdale, Rotherham and Wales. Trade Centre UK says problems are “rare” and that it can offer repairs, replacement vehicles or acceptance of rejection under consumer rules.
