Troopers flatten van's tires during Route 11 chase in Trumbull County
xCruzo Brief
State Troopers say a man spent the night in jail after leading them on a chase along State Route 11 from Ashtabula County into Trumbull County. Officers spotted a minivan weaving in the southbound lanes around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in central Ashtabula County and tried to pull it over. The driver refused, continuing toward Trumbull County at speeds above 90 mph. Once multiple cruisers joined, the van allegedly nearly struck one patrol car. After the minivan ran over spike strips that flattened two tires, speed dropped and it stopped near the Route 82 interchange in Vienna Township. Troopers shut down southbound traffic and ordered the driver out, who surrendered and was taken to Ashtabula County Jail to face charges.
