Two people arrested at Los Gatos grocery stores on suspicion of petty theft
Two people were arrested in Los Gatos on suspicion of petty theft incidents at local businesses, including Safeway and Trader Joe’s. On June 16, a woman reported that her backpack containing a laptop, iPad and other items was taken after she left it while eating dinner at Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company; the loss was discovered the following day. Separate petty theft cases were reported at Safeway on North Santa Cruz Avenue, involving alleged vehicle damage, and at Safeway on Pollard Road, where a man stole two cans of beer and was cited and released. Additional incidents included a check reported stolen from outgoing mail between June 8 and June 10, and a theft of a tool bag from maintenance workers’ golf cart with alleged attempts to access mailboxes. On June 20, a man was arrested on a misdemeanor after stealing wine and other drinks from Trader Joe’s on Los Gatos Boulevard.
