Volkswagen and Audi recall over 208,000 vehicles. See affected models

Volkswagen Group said Friday it is recalling 2.86 million Volkswagen and Audi vehicles worldwide as a precaution to replace a faulty screw that can lead drivers to lose control of steering. In the U.S., the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall affects more than 208,000 vehicles. The affected lineup includes the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, 2018–2019 Volkswagen Atlas, and 2019–2021 Audi Q3. Volkswagen said the bolt that attaches the right steering rack to the vehicle’s subframe could corrode prematurely when moisture enters the area, especially over time with road salt. The repair involves replacing the screw with a more corrosion-resistant part, free of charge, and would take up to an hour.
