Volkswagen’s new ID. Polo EV centers on bringing the electric “Polo” closer to mainstream pricing while building on strong early demand. The automaker opened pre-orders this week for the ID. Polo with a smaller 37 kWh battery, after launching the 52 kWh version at the end of April. Volkswagen said the new ID. Polo secured 25,000 orders within weeks of going on sale. The 37 kWh Trend starts in Europe at 24,995 euros (about $29,000) and offers a WLTP range of 334 km (207 miles). Life and Style variants start from 29,195 euros (about $33,500). DC fast charging supports up to 90 kW, enabling 10%–80% in roughly 23 minutes. Power outputs range from 85 kW (114 hp) to 155 kW (208 hp), and a GTI-style 166 kW (223 hp) version is planned for this fall.
