World Car Awards Tweaks Its Formula, Shows The Growth Of Chinese Cars

The World Car Awards is updating its structure for the 2027 awards season to better reflect the global rise of Chinese automakers. The program will include more jurors from China and will expand its eligible vehicle list, with a focus on models available in at least two continents across two major markets. More than half of the provisional eligible vehicles for 2027 are Chinese owned or built, and the World Performance Car and World Luxury Car categories also show numerous Chinese entries. The awards calendar will start at the Paris Motor Show in October, with contenders announced at the London International Motor Show and the gala at the New York Auto Show on March 24.
