Young England international's sickening act of thuggery rocks Junior World Cup
South Africa booked its place in the final of the World Rugby U20 Championship with a 53-37 win over England in Tbilisi, but the semifinal was overshadowed by a major red-card incident involving England flanker Seb Kelly. Kelly was shown a permanent red card on 32 minutes after head-butting full-back Luan Giliomee during their semifinal. Replays indicated Kelly appeared to head-butt Giliomee while both were on the ground after a tackle. At the time, England led 17-7, with tries from Ollie Streeter and Hugh Shields, and a converted penalty by Shields. After Kelly’s dismissal, South Africa capitalized, with Khuthadzo Rasivhaga scoring two minutes later. Further red-card action came at 64 minutes when Giliomee received a 20-minute red for a careless aerial challenge on George Pearson, but South Africa ultimately held on, with Rasivhaga completing a hat-trick, Maake adding two tries, and England scoring additional late tries.
