Beckham-style romance dream turned to rape, court told

A Perth court heard testimony in a case involving a young woman’s account of a Victoria and David Beckham-style romance fantasy that ended in an alleged violent sexual assault. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the West Australian District Court that she was excited to meet rapper Yung Filly (real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos) after he performed at a late-night venue in September 2024. Prosecutors say Filly is fighting accusations that he bit, hit, and choked a fan and then forced sex in a hotel room. Video shown in court included the woman describing how she believed she could have a relationship like the Beckhams, and that she later received tequila shots. She alleged the defendant put his hands down her pants and touched her breast while they talked at a club, while the defense disputed parts of her account. The trial continued after CCTV footage showed him leaving and boarding a mini-van.
