Benjamin Button' Musical Finds Its New York Cast

“Benjamin Button” keeps expanding Off Broadway in New York, with the stage musical adaptation set for its North American premiere this fall. The Public Theater will host previews starting October 8, an official opening on October 21, and performances running through November 15 at the Newman Theater. Tony-nominated Dead Outlaw actor-musician Andrew Durand will star in the title role, currently appearing on Broadway in The Rocky Horror Show. The production’s cast includes Kelsee Kimmel as Elowen Keene, along with Britney Coleman, Trevor Lindley Craft, Brandon J. Ellis, Katie Horner, Sachiko Mae, Morgan Morse, Kris Saint-Louis, Claire-Frances Sullivan, and Matt Wolpe. Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story, it relocates the plot to a Cornish fishing village on Britain’s coast and uses actor-musicians for an onstage company of 15. The musical won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2025, with Jethro Compton’s book and Darren Clark’s music and lyrics, and will reassemble the original London creative team.
