Black Doves season two review - The show most worthy of your Netflix subscription | Western Morning News
The second season of Netflix’s spy thriller “Black Doves” arrives as an even more satisfying binge than the first, with Keira Knightley building on her standout season-one image of Helen Webb— a secret spy assassin posing as a politician’s wife. The review says the new run opens with Helen in marriage counseling with Wallace Webb (Andrew Buchan), before quickly pivoting to another safecracking, high-violence mission where she shoots a hotel room full of attackers and returns to dinner unfazed. The story centers on Helen and her ally Sam (Ben Whishaw), both operating for “bad” players as they’re pushed into retrieving coded items and taking lethal targets, including former Black Doves. The season also introduces handler Reed (Sarah Lancashire) going missing and Sam striking a deal via Patrick (Sam Riley), escalating stakes for both characters.
