CAPE Celebrates Its 35th Anniversary With Gala This October, Honors Randall Park, Manny Jacinto, And More
The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) will mark its 35th anniversary with a gala in downtown Los Angeles this October, honoring Asian and Pacific Islander talent in media. Presented by Lexus, the CAPE 35th Anniversary Gala will recognize industry luminaries with longstanding ties to the organization, and it will be hosted by comedian and actor Asif Ali. CAPE plans to honor actors Randall Park and Manny Jacinto and announce additional honorees later. The event will feature music from the New York-based indie alternative rock band Chanpan. CAPE, founded in 1991 and now a nonprofit, has expanded from screenwriting competitions to fellowships, accelerator programs, and grants, with its New Writers Fellowship reaching a 15th anniversary in 2027. It currently runs seven active programs and has partnerships including Lexus, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Suntory Global Spirits.
