Charity with over 500 shops launches new rental service for preloved clothes
xCruzo Brief
Oxfam has launched a pilot clothing rental service offering a 14-day fashion option that lets people wear donated garments without purchasing them. The UK charity, which runs more than 500 stores nationwide, began the trial in early August and said it is the first time a national UK charity has offered clothing rental alongside its retail outlets. Selected donated items can be hired for 14 days, with prices starting at £22. The collection includes vintage pieces such as a Balenciaga dress, a Stella McCartney jacket and a Dolce & Gabbana dress. Oxfam cleans and prepares the clothing before sending it, and customers return it for reuse. The service was developed with ACS for operational delivery, and income supports Oxfam’s charitable work.
