Danny Elfman scores with new music tour
xCruzo Brief
Danny Elfman says Coachella finally convinced him to return to big outdoor concerts after years of avoiding daytime festivals, crowds and sun. The film composer and former Oingo Boingo frontman was impressed by Coachella’s high-tech video screens and agreed to perform a set of film-score favorites ranging from Batman to Beetlejuice and Good Will Hunting. He’ll also release a follow-up to 2021’s Big Mess in the next couple months, and fans can catch roughly half the record live at MGM Music Hall on Sept. 12. Elfman plans an eclectic mix, pairing rock songs and classics with film music and even a nod to his classical work.
