A new wave of online debate followed Pat McAfee’s move into music after NFL analyst Lindsey was blocked from mocking his country-hip-hop album. McAfee released The Diary of a Polarizing Figure earlier this month, a 14-track project he says draws on songs written for 20 years. The backlash includes jokes about lyrics, his country-style delivery, and early AI-related concepts. On Aug. 16, Lindsey posted on X that she had listened to a track and “stole a catalytic converter,” later clarifying she hadn’t actually listened. Nearly two weeks later, she shared a screenshot showing her blocked by the Pat McAfee Show account, prompting reactions that leaned on McAfee’s former punter persona.
