Hank Williams Jr. Postpones and Reschedules Concerts Out of an "Abundance of Caution
Hank Williams Jr. postponed and rescheduled concerts in Michigan due to wildfire smoke and worsening air quality, citing an “abundance of caution.” The country singer’s team announced on Friday, the day before his show in Clarkston, Michigan, that weekend performances would not proceed because air conditions were concerning and forecasted to remain hazy through the beginning of that weekend. The rescheduled dates are August 13 at Pine Knob Music Theatre and August 14 at Acrisure Amphitheater, with previously purchased tickets honored. The move followed wildfire smoke traveling from Minnesota and Ontario, Canada, to Michigan. Fan reactions on social media ranged from disappointment to requests for refunds, while some acknowledged age-related concerns about performing in smoke. Separately, Detroit News reported that air quality on Thursday reached “emergency condition,” and specialists advised staying indoors.
