Jack Lowden has been named by author and TV presenter Richard Osman as a serious contender to become the next James Bond. Osman, appearing on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, said Lowden is “strongly considered” for the role following tips he received. The Scottish actor, 36, is currently best known for playing MI5 agent River Cartwright opposite Gary Oldman in Apple TV+ spy drama “Slow Horses.” Osman acknowledged Bond casting decisions rarely match audience predictions, and emphasized Lowden has not received an official confirmation. Lowden’s casting links include casting director Nina Gold, who previously worked on “Slow Horses.” The next Bond film is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, with producer Amy Pascal calling the process “methodical.”
