Helsinki's Finnish Film Affair Unveils Film, Series Pitches and Panels, Strikes First Nordic Genre Lab Partnership (EXCLUSIVE)

Finnish Film Affair (FFA) will run Sept. 23–25 in Helsinki, alongside the Helsinki International Film Festival Love & Anarchy, and will pitch 38 Nordic and international projects to 500-plus attendees during Showcase Day on Sept. 24. The opener is “Nightborn,” Hanna Bergholm’s horror feature, a Fantasia Festival top winner and a Berlinale Golden Bear contender. FFA is also launching a partnership with the Nordic Genre Lab, replacing its “Finnish Weird” section with a broader genre-bending showcase led by Nordic Genre Lab co-founders Laura Laaksonen and Claire Willats. Projects include “Alma,” “Whistler,” “Linden Lane 6,” and documentaries such as “Lonesome Land.”
