Major fashion retailer starts closing all 37 stores after entering administration
Quiz has begun closing all 37 remaining stores after entering administration, signaling the latest chapter in the retailer's financial distress. The company entered administration in February for a second time in 12 months and appointed Interpath partners Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs as joint administrators. Interpath has established a closure plan to wind down the stores by the end of June, with more than 100 head office and warehouse roles at risk. Earlier closures included Belfast Castlecourt Shopping Centre, Leeds, and Romford.
Since the announcement, six more stores have closed: Aberdeen, Basingstoke, Bracknell, Dunfermline, Inverness, and Warrington. Drapers lists eight further closures planned in the coming days: Hanley, Mansfield (June 13); Carlisle and Eastbourne (June 14); Watford (June 16); Clydebank (June 17); Irvine (June 19); Portsmouth (June 20). Northampton could shut over the weekend if stock sells through. The 23 remaining sites are due to close by end-June, including Cardiff, Castleford, Craigavon, Derby, Gateshead Metro, and Glasgow and Manchester locations, though exact dates remain unconfirmed. Discounts of up to 80% are offered to clear stock and repay debts, while concessions in New Look and Matalan stores are not included in administration.
