Modern Warfare 4 Progression & Prestige Officially Explained

Activision has outlined how progression and prestige will work in “Modern Warfare 4,” describing a system familiar to Call of Duty players but with added prestige options. Players start at level one and earn XP through multiplayer, DMZ, and Call of Duty: Warzone after Season 1 begins, via standard activities like defeating enemies and completing challenges, with objectives granting more XP. Levels 1–55 include unlocks that bring rewards such as loadouts, weapons, equipment, field upgrades, perks, and killstreaks. Prestige splits into Classic and Regular Prestige: both reset levels, but Classic includes a 20% XP boost plus a permanent unlock token and cosmetics. Prestige Master reaches level 90, unlocking level color customization after level 56.
