Mum says son dancing with Madness in Lincoln is 'still surreal'
A mother says it still feels “very surreal” that her six-year-old son appeared on stage with Madness at Lincoln Castle. Henry, from Gainsborough, was invited to dance with the band during the concert on 19 June, and a video posted online has since been viewed more than three million times. Rebecca told BBC Breakfast that Henry, who is too young to grasp the scale, was on stage with Suggs in front of about 6,000 people. She said a photographer from Lincoln Castle noticed Henry before the show and returned after speaking with “some important people” to ask if he wanted to meet the band. Henry learned moves from his grandfather and from watching scooter rallies that play ska, reggae and 2 Tone. He said he was nervous initially, but his father and grandfather helped him feel confident, and his grandfather took him backstage. The London band is touring the UK for its 50th anniversary celebrations.
