Netflix Is Already Releasing A 'Jane Doe V. Cornell' Documentary
xCruzo Brief
Netflix is moving deeper into short-form programming with Instadocs, a roughly half-hour documentary line focused on very recent events. The next installment, Jane Doe v. Cornell, arrives Thursday, Oct. 29, about the Cornell 7 case that broke in mid-September. The film includes interviews with Cornell Daily Sun editors, Jane Doe’s attorney, and New York Governor Kathy Hochul. Netflix describes it as sparked by a lawsuit alleging the former Cornell student was drugged and raped at the Chi Phi fraternity house in October 2024, triggering protests and a national debate on campus sexual assault. As of Oct. 1, Hochul said state Attorney General Letitia James will be assigned to the investigation.
