Netflix's New 8-Part Nuclear Thriller Unleashes Explosive First Trailer

Netflix has released new images and a first trailer for Trinity, its upcoming eight-part nuclear thriller. The series follows discussions of nuclear war that have intensified in recent years, and Netflix’s earlier greenlight of Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite (2025). Trinity stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Commander Katherine Decker, second-in-command on a nuclear submarine, and Richard Madden as the U.S. secretary of defense. Written and produced by Jed Mercurio, the politically charged story centers on conspiracy and national defense. Mercurio describes the boat-first mentality behind Decker’s role and the uncertainty of whether the secretary is a savior or threat.
