Plans July 4 Concert in L.A., Competing With Trump

America250’s July 4 celebration in Los Angeles anchors the national party’s competing plans for Independence Day. The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will host America's Block Party, featuring Smashing Pumpkins and Chris Stapleton, with Queen Latifah as host and a Giving 4th charitable drive. Tickets are priced at $17.76 and additional performers will be announced. America250 is a nonprofit created by Congress about a decade ago to steward the semiquincentennial, operating alongside Donald Trump’s Freedom 250, which has pursued its own celebration lineup. The broader effort includes block parties in Charleston, New York, Milwaukee and Fort Campbell, while other events, like One Philly Unity Concert, also compete for attention.
