Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated Gladiator II is set to hit Netflix with a new release window after a long development and theatrical run. The film arrives as a 148-minute action epic, extending Scott’s Oscar-winning 2000 legacy 24 years later. The story follows Lucius Aurelius (Paul Mescal), son of Maximus (Russell Crowe), who is sent away from Rome as a child, then forced into slavery after his family is attacked. He rises as a gladiator and becomes a symbol of rebellion. The cast includes Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, Peter Mensah, Rory McCann, plus returning Derek Jacobi and Connie Nielsen. David Scarpa wrote the screenplay.
