Stockton’s new waterfront opens with an Armed Forces Day celebration marking the official debut of a new town waterfront park. The event, titled “Armed Forces Day: A Community Celebration,” took place at Stockton Waterfront on Saturday as the site welcomed its first visitors. The opening included wartime musical performances, an open-air thanksgiving service and a ceremonial flypast. The waterfront also creates a direct link between Stockton High Street and the River Tees via a land bridge structure, spanning Riverside Road and enabling uninterrupted access to the riverfront.
