The Accentum Clip could make open-ear earbuds more appealing to music lovers
Sennheiser’s Accentum Clip aims to make open-ear earbuds more compelling by improving bass and overall tuning without relying on an in-ear seal. The clip-style design is positioned to deliver stronger bass, clear vocals and balanced treble, using a 12mm dynamic driver tuned for “clarity, punchy bass and smooth treble.” The earbuds support SBC and AAC codecs, plus LDAC for higher-bitrate audio transmission, and include a Dynamic EQ feature that adjusts sound output at different volume levels to help maintain balance and reduce distortion. Open-ear benefits remain, with no onboard noise cancellation while allowing users to hear their surroundings. Each earbud weighs 6.8 grams and uses a flexible silicone bridge, rated IP54 for dust and sweat resistance. Battery life is rated up to nine hours alone and up to 36 hours with the case, with a 10-minute charge for two hours of playback. Availability begins July 23 in Canada at CAD $269.95.
