The Bodyguard Becomes Guarding Stars on Netflix - YA All Day

Netflix is adapting Katherine Center’s novel The Bodyguard into a new film titled Guarding Stars, set to premiere November 18, 2026. The release comes as a feature-length project on Netflix, originally announced as The Bodyguard before being renamed, and the story’s setting shifts from a Texas ranch around Thanksgiving to a family ranch in Montana during Christmas. Filming took place in and around Calgary and High River, Alberta, with a pause for several weeks in January 2026 after Jared Padalecki broke his leg. The plot centers on Hannah Brooks, a protection agent, assigned to guard movie star Jack Stapleton, who asks her to pose as his girlfriend to protect his ailing mother from his stalkers. The article also lists additional cast members and notes the series’ romantic tropes.
