The Pitt' and 'Hacks' compete for gold at TV's Emmy Awards
xCruzo Brief
Hollywood gathers Monday night for the Primetime Emmy Awards, with Mariska Hargitay hosting the NBC ceremony from downtown Los Angeles. The lineup includes presenters Jon Hamm, Sally Field, Amy Poehler and Zendaya, and the show streams on Peacock after airing live at 8 p.m. ET. Hargitay said she worked with writers from Stephen Colbert’s former late-night show to shape Emmy material, aiming for a different tone from her SVU role. “The Pitt” seeks a second straight best drama win, while “Hacks” and Jean Smart target a comedy acting sweep. Harrison Ford, 84, could claim a supporting actor Emmy for “Shrinking.”
