xCruzo Brief
“Tiangong Kaiwu” staged a runway show in Beijing on the evening of November 2 at the Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum (Xiannongtan). The event, guided by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, was hosted by CCTV.com and the Beijing Xicheng District Bureau of Culture and Tourism. It drew inspiration from the museum’s “Celestial Palace” caisson ceiling and from the Ming dynasty technical encyclopedia Tiangong Kaiwu (The Exploitation of the Works of Nature). After a nationwide call for entries, 72 jewelry pieces and 90 looks were selected for the showcase, which traced the 24 solar terms. Four themed markets ran alongside the show.
