Tunes Tuesday: Lucinda Williams - Rhode Island Monthly

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams will bring her new album, Worlds Gone Wrong, to the Uptown Theater in Providence on October 7. In an interview ahead of the show, Williams said she feels “mortified” about the state of the world, and channeled that anger and concern into a record released in early 2026. Mixed by frequent collaborator Ray Kennedy, the album is billed as a protest project, tackling themes including race, poverty, and struggle in the United States, while balancing hope and despair. Williams also discussed returning to Providence’s Uptown Theater, and how her current band supports her live after a stroke.
