What's worth watching on TV this week
This week’s TV slate highlights major streaming and broadcast changes, led by the big-budget Netflix remake of Little House on the Prairie. The series is moving closer to Laura Ingalls Wilder’s late-1800s frontier experiences, with a cast that includes Indigenous actors in key roles. While it aims to address themes treated with less nuance in earlier retellings, an embargo prevents more details even as “lots of buzz” builds ahead of release. The lineup also features The Great Outdoors on Seven at 8pm Saturday, hosted by James Tobin, Phil Burton, Teigan Nash, Lee Carseldine, and Kimberley Busteed, taking viewers to destinations including the Cook Islands and Shetland Islands. Apple TV Plus debuts the dystopian sci-fi drama Silo, starring Rebecca Ferguson, with new characters including Colin Hanks and Jessica Henwick. ABC Kids airs the start of a Season Two run of Do Not Watch This Show on Monday at 7:30pm.
