Widespread Panic Extends Red Rocks Legacy & Joins Colorado Music Hall Of Fame
Widespread Panic extended its Red Rocks legacy with a three-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, delivering sellouts numbered 76, 77 and 78 for the band’s streak. The weekend performances followed the group’s 76th–78th consecutive sold-out shows from Friday through Sunday. Guitarist Nick Johnson made his Red Rocks debut during the run, joining the lead guitar role while longtime guitarist Jimmy Herring continued recovering from cancer treatment. Johnson had been playing with the band since the 2025 New Years run at the Fox Theatre in ATL. The article describes strong set energy, including a “Protein Drink” to “Sewing Machine” sequence and a highlight segment featuring “Fishing > Dirty Business > Stop-Go > Maggot Brain > Love Tractor.” A Funkadelic cover of “Maggot Brain” is cited as a standout, while the encore included “Nobody’s Loss” and a first play of “Tickle the Truth” since December 30, 2023.
