AbbVie's Migraine Franchise Scored a Big Win. Is This Dividend King a No-Brainer Buy Right Now?
AbbVie’s migraine treatment Qulipta notched a Phase 3 clinical milestone that could broaden its label and support sales. Qulipta was first approved in the U.S. in 2021 for preventive treatment of migraine, later expanded for chronic migraine in adults. The company announced top-line results from a Phase 3 trial in patients with menstrual migraine, where Qulipta reduced migraine days versus placebo during the perimenstrual period, meeting the primary endpoint. It also met secondary endpoints, including acute medication use and functional disability, and reported no new safety signals. AbbVie noted there are no approved therapies specifically for menstrual migraine, and analysts expect additional commercial upside if regulators expand the indication.
