Baby sleep supplement recalled after alcohol found in bottles
Pacific Health Sciences is recalling one lot of its Magic Tea Brand Baby Sleep Gripe Water dietary supplement after FDA testing found alcohol ingredients that were not declared on the label. The recall covers one lot, sold in frascos ámbar dentro de una caja de cartón azul, with a best-by date of December 2028 and lot number 25122BW. According to the FDA, the affected bottles tested positive for ethanol, methanol and isopropanol. Reported levels were about 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol and 0.48% isopropanol. None of these substances were listed on the packaging. The FDA warns that exposure may pose risks to children, including drowsiness, loss of coordination, behavioral changes, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and at higher amounts could increase the risk of respiratory depression. Consumers are told to discard the product or return it for a refund.
