Blood Pressure Medication Recalled Nationwide. See the Affected Drug
More than 3,700 bottles of a generic blood pressure pill are being recalled nationwide, while the brand-name Tribenzor is not included. The manufacturer, Macleods Pharmaceuticals, initiated the recall on Oct. 7 for “failed dissolution specifications,” meaning the drug does not release its active ingredients at the proper rate. The FDA classified it as a Class II recall on Oct. 26, indicating the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, but it is unlikely to trigger serious harm. In total, 3,528 bottles of the 30-count packaging and 216 bottles of the 90-count packaging are affected. The FDA said consumers may continue using the medicine unless directed otherwise, but patients should verify the lot number and consult their healthcare provider.
