Bris backs patient Sunderland approach in 'slow' transfer market - and explains plan for World Cup stars
Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris says the club is taking a patient approach to the transfer market this summer, with early activity limited to the free signing of Thomas Meunier. Speaking ahead of the new campaign, Le Bris indicated Sunderland will prioritize quality over quantity, noting that the market is “slow” this season and that waiting for the right decision is preferable to rushing. The Black Cats also continued their pre-season run with a 5-1 victory over League Two side York City on Saturday. Enzo Le Fee scored twice, while Chris Rigg, Tymur Tutierov and Tom Proctor added goals. Le Bris said World Cup players were given no involvement, with the starting XI used first and younger players introduced in the second half. He added that the squad will build back together through Lens and Rennes and then into the season opener.
