Epinephrine Recalled Nationwide After Glass and Plastic Particles Spark Severe Death Warning

American Regent has issued a voluntary nationwide recall of epinephrine injection vials after finding foreign glass and plastic particles inside certain products. The company announced the recall on 3 September 2026 for three lots of Epinephrine Injection, USP 30 mg/30 mL, prompted by customer reports of leaking and cracked vials. The investigation identified particulate matter including nylon, cellulosic material, acrylic, polyethylene and glass, and the recall notice warns that injecting these particles intravenously can block blood vessels, damage organs, and potentially cause death. It also cautions that cracked containers may lose sterility, risking contamination. American Regent said it has received no adverse event reports related to the recall.
