FDA: Pre-workout recalled over ingredient linked to heart and blood pressure problems
xCruzo Brief
The FDA announced a nationwide recall of a pre-workout dietary supplement powder, saying it may contain DMAA, a stimulant linked to potentially serious heart and blood pressure problems. Leader Formulas, LLC is recalling one lot of its Rapture pre-workout dietary supplement powder after FDA testing found DMAA in the product. Officials said DMAA, also known as 1,3-dimethylamylamine, can lead to elevated blood pressure and cardiovascular risks including heart attack, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. The supplement was sold in 450-gram round plastic containers with red and black labeling and a rhinoceros image. It was available nationwide online and in stores from Jan. 29, 2025, through May 25, 2026.
