FDB Moves Ambient Listening Beyond Notes with AI-Powered Prescribing Agent
FDB (First Databank, Inc.) announced the first commercial deployment of its FDB Script Agent™, an AI prescribing agent, with Tebra, an all-in-one platform for independent healthcare practices. Scheduled for Aug. 24, 2026, the deployment is designed to convert ambient patient-visit dialogue into structured prescriptions for clinician review. FDB says it uses medication intelligence grounded in trusted, clinically validated data and terminology codification, rather than relying on basic NLP. Clinicians can modify or approve prescriptions before sending them to the EHR, and the company says the system avoids generating prescriptions outside normal practice without clinician override. FDB positions the tool as extending ambient AI automation beyond documentation into prescribing to reduce administrative burden for physicians.
