Top pick Fernando Mendoza had a difficult outing in his second preseason start as the Las Vegas Raiders rallied to beat the Houston Texans 22-20 on Thursday night. Mendoza threw an interception on his third pass, and Houston’s Wade Woodaz returned it 80 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-0. Mendoza finished the first half 8 of 15 for 86 yards after also seeing time behind Kirk Cousins in his opener versus Arizona. He was sacked once and took multiple hits, managing only one field goal drive across five series. Aidan O’Connell relieved Mendoza in the second half, scoring on a 1-yard tush push as the Raiders closed late.
