IRMC ANNOUNCES RESIDENCY EXPANSION

Indiana Regional Medical Center (IRMC) expanded its Rural Family Medicine Residency Program into Punxsutawney. The program, launched four years ago, trains residents in their first, second and third years at IRMC. This year, it added a site in Jefferson County, hosting three first-year residents at Punxsutawney Area Hospital; their term began in July. The IRMC curriculum includes inpatient and outpatient family medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics, surgery, behavioral health, cardiology and more. The residency now supports up to 30 residents across Indiana and Jefferson Counties. IRMC and Punxsutawney Area Hospital are both part of the Mountains Health regional healthcare alliance.
