Lions Jack Campbell Gets Worrying Injury Update From Sports Doctor
Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell was taken to a hospital after a hit left him motionless during Sunday’s game, and a sports doctor raised concerns he may have been injured before the play. Campbell was carted off on a backboard in the fourth quarter of Detroit’s 19-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The team said he would remain overnight for observation and continued evaluation. Campbell was hurt while attempting a tackle on Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson, after appearing to be struck in the head or neck area. The Lions had not yet released the full extent of the injury. Doctor Jimmy Liao suggested Campbell could have suffered a “predecessor” concussion on an earlier play, while also hoping there was no spinal issue. Lions coach Dan Campbell and quarterback Jared Goff said they were praying and hoping for a quick recovery.
